The role
We are seeking a part-time weekend Veterinary Receptionist to join our Dorchester 24-hour hospital.

This role will be supporting a team of Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses and Patient Care Assistants, assisting with reception tasks and welcoming all clients and patients into the practice.

This position will best suit a proactive enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and exceptional communication skills.

You will be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and prioritise your workload whilst maintaining a friendly and welcoming disposition.

This is a part-time role to work on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

26 hours a week

Essential Attributes:
Reception, administration and customer service experience
Presentable Empathetic - able to deal with upset clients
Good telephone skills and manner
Engaging manner with clients and staff
Good spoken English
Computer literate
Organised
Animal lover


Desirable Attributes:
Good written English
Extroverted and outgoing
Able to solve problems Mediation ability
Sales experience
Able to work under pressure
Knowledge of first aid (helpful but not essential as training can be offered)

Medivet Dorchester is a long-established practice in the heart of the beautiful county town of Dorchester, within a stone's throw of the famous Jurassic coast.

We pride ourselves on providing excellent care to our patients from our smart, recently refurbished premises.


We are a 24-hour centre so have a vet and nurse on site, awake, looking after our patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are the only practice in the area to offer this.

We also run our own emergency services clinic with a dedicated night team for local practices' out of hour cover.

We have CT currently being installed and excellent diagnostic equipment enabling true hospital level care.
