The Role_

Contract
:
Permanent /Part time/ 21.75 hrs a week


Location
:
North East (Newcastle) / Hybrid (1/2 days in the office per week)


Salary

£21,600 ( FTE £36,000)

Job purpose_

  • The External Relations Executive _is central to the successful delivery of the organisations Policy and External Affairs in the North East, Yorkshire & Humber regions. The marketing team is responsible for ensuring the image and reputation of the organisation is upheld and enhanced. This role has responsibility for _external relations_ and _public affairs_ while developing promotional marketing materials online and for events, to increase the organisations public persona. You will be responsible for developing communication strategies, expanding, and supporting those already set in place.

Key Accountabilities:_

  • External Relations (local government, local councils, media, schools, academia)
  • General Communications
  • Development & Management of social media relations and content
  • Monitor and manage content and development of regional webpages.
  • Write Press Releases
  • Production of Promotional materials
  • Develop and implement internal and external communications.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing campaigns.
  • Draft articles, press releases, blogs, comment pieces and letters
  • Prepare and provide press releases, media plans and briefing material.
  • Write speeches/briefings for major events.
  • Develop and deliver media approaches and strategies.
  • Advise and implement effective proactive and reactive media relations.
  • Research and monitor industry and Government news.
  • Provide stakeholder engagement and advice.
You will be able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.

You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and be comfortable working in a flexible, fast paced environment.

  • Desk top Publishing software [InDesign/Adobe], databases and HTML coding knowledge
  • Development of communications plans and social media strategies.
  • Production of highquality marketing materials.
  • Understanding of media landscape and media relations
  • Event Management
  • Writing of policy documentation
  • Knowledge of the built environment, membership/volunteer organisations
  • Some business development Knowledge
