Purpose of the role:

Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Political & Financial Risk ("PFR") team.

This includes ensuring the timely processing of all policy documentation and assisting the underwriting team with pricing, portfolio analysis, data accuracy and quality checks, and credit control as well as ad-hoc reporting when required.


Duties and accountabilities:


  • To process and quality check inward policy information including; quotes, submissions, wordings and slips within specified standards and Contract Certainty requirements. Process paper and electronic policy endorsements by passing them through to Capita via Aegility.
  • Generating Front-Sheet (Deal Sheet) documents for individual policies.
  • Routine maintenance of PR master spreadsheet and pipeline spreadsheet including followingup with brokers on pipelined and quoted transactions.
  • Assisting underwriters at Lloyd's box sessions.
  • Provide assistance to Credit Control in monitoring premium differences.
  • Review the Capita Data Entry Accuracy (2nd Checking) reports and advise of changes required when data entry errors are discovered. This involves liaising with Capita and an understanding of the recording rules is required.
  • Query management resolving any PFR related query that is raised by our underwriting support team or Capita and resolve queries raised within the DQ Pro system which is a daily task and includes variance reporting, TRM updating, system entry errors, signing checks, intrali queries.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and analysis to maximise the team's knowledge base and help retain business.
  • Exposure management and aggregation monitoring collating, reviewing and circulating the summary report to team and management. Coordinating with the Aggregations Team to ensure the accurate entry of aggregate information, if required.
  • Liaising with Compliance re Sanctions, licensing (including Crystal checks) and KYC matters.
  • Attending Political Risk market meetings/events to assist underwriters with notetaking/meeting brokers.
  • Development of underwriting and technical knowledge of Political and Financial Risk business.
  • Take ownership of selfdevelopment and use initiative to cultivate underwriting knowledge and techinical understanding of Political Risk Insurance.

Skills, knowledge and experience:


  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to take charge of the management of documentation and information within the underwriting team and ensure this is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, interacting with other team members in a supportive and assertive manner.
  • Excellent communication and social skills.
  • Good understanding of MS Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of Industry processes.
  • Prepared to study towards ACII.
