    Job summary

    You will be working with young people aged between 18-25 years who have a diagnosis of ADHD and those that require assessment and treatment for ADHD. The post holder will conduct ADHD assessments, with support from the wider MDT. Our MDT aims to support robust quality assessments alongside supporting team members to manage risk and concerns. The post holder will be given opportunities to learn and develop skills for assessing and supporting symptoms of ADHD to ensure highest quality care is provided for our young people. The post holder will also have a role in supporting the wider MDT.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will conduct ADHD assessments, with support from the wider MDT. Our MDT aims to support robust quality assessments alongside supporting team members to manage risk and concerns. Where appropriate, they will be required to liaise with other local agencies including Tier IV inpatient and specialist centres, as well as the Mental Health Liaison Team and the home treatment team.

    To assist in the provision of quality evidence-based support and care for those diagnosed with ADHD. You will work with a range of young people and adults with ADHD and co-morbid mental health presentations.

    Ensure that each referred patient receives an individual specialist assessment, risk assessment and care plan and is the subject of regular evaluation which, wherever practicable, is formulated in conjunction with the patient and/or their family.

    Ensure that all case records are maintained accurately, legibly and contemporaneously and that all information acquired in the course of carrying out their duties is treated in the strictest confidence but is shared with all professional colleagues in line with information sharing policy/protocol

  • Professional qualification - RMN / RNLD qualifications
  • Desirable

  • Specific qualification in a relevant therapeutic speciality counselling, Family Therapy, CBT, substance misuse
  • Qualifications

  • Extensive post registration experience in mental health care
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Hold an interest in a specialist area (ADHD/neurodevelopmental conditions)
  • Working knowledge of mental health and ADHD.
