- Registered Nurse Level 1 (Active NMC Registration)
- Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience

Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Nursing for Long Term Care within Primary Care, Community and Therapies Service Group (PCTSG).
Leading the service, accountability for governance arrangements, quality of service provision and improvement will be key priorities of this position.
The successful candidate would need to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders, and represent the service not only within Primary Community Care and Swansea Bay University Health Board but at key national Nursing meetings, as appropriate.
The role will require the ability to make decisions and progress the work programme for Nursing Services with in PCTSG which will involve working closely with the Senior Nursing colleagues to facilitate, support and enable change.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will direct, lead and motivate nursing staff to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficient and effective service delivery.
In addition the individual will need to work within policy and professional guidelines, interpreting these to inform local policy and development and to improve practice. Provide professional advice to a range of clinicians, managers and staff in overseeing the provision of high quality, person centred care.
Eligible candidates will also require the following skills, knowledge & experience;
·Demonstrable experience in leadership & management
·Knowledge & understanding of the strategic direction for Primary Care
·Excellent knowledge and understanding of Community Nursing,
·Demonstrable experience of leading, influencing and implementing strategic change,
·Experience in business development and strategic transformation
·Knowledge of the NHS Funded Nursing Care and NHS Continuing Healthcare Policy and Framework
·Experience of the Care Home Sector/Governance/Regulation processes
·A broad understanding of Care Home Contracting, Commissioning and performance monitoring
·Detailed understanding of providing a Supervisory Body Function of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard's.
·Experience in implementing the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act for an organisation
·Experience of administering the Retrospective Claims process
