What we are looking for
We are looking for a
Housing Solutions Accommodation Officer to join our
Temporary Accommodations Team.

The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.


About the role


You will work alongside our Temporary Accommodations Team with a responsibility to support vulnerable people to prevent and relieve homelessness in our temporary accommodation and to support them to move on to more suitable accommodation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To accurately risk assess all applicants prior to moving into temporary accommodation and to ensure any mitigations are put into place to reduce risks.
  • To issue s193 Housing Act letters to residents moving into temporary accommodation and to ensure Part 6 offers of accommodation are made to all applicants being offered accommodation through Choice Based Lettings.
  • Visiting temporary accommodation units weekly to check residents are residing and adhering to their licence conditions.
  • The issue of notices and end of duty letters to residents who are in breach of their conditions, carrying out evictions when appropriate.


You will be required to work with people to understand their housing and support needs, as well as managing the properties that they live in.


About You
Have you had experience of working with clients with complex needs?

Do you have knowledge of safeguarding and the routes of referral?

Have you had experience of liaising with other statutory and voluntary organisations, including mental health, social services, and police?

Do you have a clear understanding of homelessness, the temporary accommodation journey and the issues facing households who find themselves in a housing crisis?


We are looking for a dedicated professional with a relevant qualification at NVQ or equivalent knowledge gained through experience in the workplace.


You will need to have knowledge of housing law, particularly in relation to the management of licence's and non-secure tenancies.


Strong communication skills are essential along with the desire to find solutions and the ability to communicate complex information with different audiences in an appropriate manner.
