Education Mental Health Practitioner


Recently rated outstanding by the CQC, ELCAS are excited to be recruiting a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner for the new Mental Health in Schools Support Teams in Blackburn with Darwen.

The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.


There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within all secondary and special schools in Blackburn with Darwen.

Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be integrated with community ELCAS team and based in secondary educational settings within the borough.


The Education Mental Health Practitioners ensure that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people's mental health and to ensure integration within the school environment is seamless and transparent.


We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner with a demonstrable track record of training and delivery of therapeutic interventions.

You will join the existing team of practitioners in training, mental health practitioners and senior practitioners, which is passionate about children's mental health and has a demonstrable track record of training and delivery of therapeutic interventions.

You must have successfully completed the EMHP course in a previous wave.
