Job Purpose
The Production Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring the production processes run efficiently and compliantly within the production dept. to meet customer delivery dates with the highest levels of quality.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The Production Supervisor will have the following qualifications and experience as a minimum:
- Previous production supervisory experience essential.
- Ability to work across multiple departments within manufacturing and communicate effectively with Despatch / Logistics, Technical Service, Customer Service and Goodsin.
- Familiarity with developing Production Operating procedures.
- Knowledge of UDI/Barcoding and other traceability systems.
- Ability to work with Work Instructions on D36
- Previous knowledge of Lean Manufacture methods including 5S.
- Specific production knowledge in more than one area.
- Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of production staff who are responsible for safely and cost-effectively moving the raw materials through the production process
- Ensure correct staffing, stock and equipment levels in place across departments
- Responsibility for accurate upkeep of all traceability systems including serial numbers and UDI labelling
- Maximise production quality across departments
- To work with senior management and peers to train and develop team members skills
- Resolve queries quickly and efficiently within the proscribed timescale including HR/disciplinary issues.
- Communicate and liaise with, and escalate issues to fellow management and maintain a culture that develops a twoway feedback
- Ensure all 5S boards are updated daily and that all production areas maintain a clean and tidy workplace at all times.
- Ensure any PPE supplied for use in carrying out your duties is used as instructed
- To be a responsible, reliable and punctual key holder
- Ensure your team maintain a professional attitude when dealing with all customer visits.
