Dog School Senior Coach - Exeter, United Kingdom - Dogs Trust
![Default job background](https://contents.bebee.com/public/img/bg-user-ex-1.jpg)
Description
Do you adore dogs? Are you a people person? Do you want to have a positive impact on dog owners in your neighborhood and enhance dog well-being?
We have a deep affection for dogs. That's why we go above and beyond to ensure that each canine companion receives the affection they merit. We are committed to never euthanizing a healthy dog, focusing instead on assisting dogs in need, guiding owners every step of the way, and striving towards a better future for dogs. This has been our mission since 1891, leading us to become the foremost dog charity in the UK, aiding 12,000 loyal friends in finding their forever homes annually.
Dog School plays a crucial role in bringing about positive change within the community by aiming to prevent the development of behavioral issues in dogs that could result in abandonment or euthanasia. Our teams offer constructive, high-quality, welfare-conscious guidance on dog training and behavior during our engaging, informative sessions. Emphasizing reward-based techniques, Dog School's goal is for each dog to leave with the ability to follow basic commands and behave appropriately in daily situations.
Having a solid grasp of dog training, exceptional communication skills, self-motivation, and a vibrant personality, you will help dog owners gain a better understanding of their pets, fostering a positive long-term bond between dog and owner. Your ability to interact sensitively, effectively, and courteously with individuals is crucial. A full manual driving license is also required.
We empower our coaches to lead classes and work independently in the future, offering numerous opportunities for continuous growth. Team members are guided towards obtaining their APDT certification, with ongoing membership covered. We provide comprehensive training programs focusing on Dog Training, Customer Service, Presentation Skills, Key Management Skills, and Media Training to support you in making a meaningful impact. And did we mention the abundant potential for advancement into Head Coach roles and other areas of the organization?
If you are eager to contribute to your local community, and thrive in an innovative, progressive team dedicated to dog welfare, where you can enhance your skills through ongoing professional development, we are eager to hear from you!
Please be aware that we may close this position early if we receive a sufficient number of suitable applications, so we encourage early submissions to avoid disappointment.
Please note that while you will be based at home, you will be conducting classes in the Exeter area.
