Vacancy Description

is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join our Children and Family Services team. This is a vital role within our organization, reporting to the Team Manager, and supporting our commitment to protecting children and families affected by domestic abuse.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct support to children and families impacted by domestic abuse, with a focus on delivering effective interventions and safeguarding measures.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, develop safety plans, and facilitate access to relevant support services.
  • Work in close collaboration with other professionals, including social workers, mental health practitioners, and external agencies, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach for the welfare and wellbeing of families.
  • Offer ongoing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make positive changes and achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, produce reports, and contribute to case management to ensure the delivery of highquality support.
  • Qualified and experienced Domestic Abuse Practitioner, with a thorough understanding of domestic abuse dynamics, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, develop safety plans, and deliver effective interventions to facilitate positive change with families.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and build strong rapport with children, families, and professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a caseload effectively, maintaining accurate and uptodate records.
  • Commitment to continuously learn and develop in the field of domestic abuse, staying updated on best practices and innovative approaches.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year.

Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council's corporate buildings.
