Hours: 37 hours per week

Location of post: Based from Tir Morfa, Sandfields, Port Talbot (TBC)

We are currently seeking a Training Advisor (Employability/Careers) to join our team for an exciting new project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, called Pathways 2 Progression. This is an opportunity for an individual to start immediately until the project's completion on 31/12/2024.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing a caseload of learners/pupils/young people participating in various courses, qualifications, and work-based learning programs provided by Skills & Training across diverse industry sectors. Responsibilities include ensuring all learners receive the necessary training, support, and guidance to successfully achieve their qualifications and meet the program's goals. This role involves teaching at schools, NPT training centers, external organizations, and employer premises.

Main duties of the post include:

• Create/design, plan, and deliver learning materials tailored to specific industries.
• Deliver teaching sessions to learners based on their individual learning plans.
• Deliver occupational and technical/knowledge-based qualifications.
• Assess and verify learners' vocational competence and technical skills.
• Manage a caseload of learners within specified sector(s).
• Ensure programs are delivered at appropriate levels for individual learners.
• Monitor learner progress and review at regular intervals.
• Develop new work placements and expand training initiatives.
• Inspect placements to ensure compliance with standards.
• Represent the section at various events as needed.
• Organize and deliver courses as required.
• Attend stakeholder meetings as necessary.
• Provide support and guidance to learners.
• Maintain documentation and records.
• Liaise with external stakeholders.
• Provide reports for management.
• Maintain knowledge of vocational training developments.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Maintain EWC Registration annually.

Experience and Qualification requirements:

• Experience in employability skills provision.
• Experience working with young people and/or school-age pupils.
• Experience delivering employability-focused sessions/courses/qualifications.
• Understanding of work-based learning programs.
• Knowledge of Essential Skills Wales and skills accreditation systems.

Ideally, you will:

• Possess A1 and V1 awards/TAQA or equivalent.
• Have NVQ Level 4 in advice and guidance.
• Hold Further Education Teaching Certificate or equivalent.
• Have Essential Skills Wales Qualifications/practitioner's certificate.
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.

The role may involve extensive travel across South Wales; therefore, having the ability to drive and own a vehicle is preferred.

Education Workforce Council membership will be required.
