Required to ensure all accounting entries within the individual's area of control (i.e. project, contract, service line) are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. This involves the provision of timely reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders and externally to the client.Furthermore, financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets and a "no surprises" outlook, together with ad-hoc financial analysis. This will require
the management of a team and to demonstrate influencing skills with business management and other functions.
The position is based at our Head Office in Aberdeen, Scotland. We offer a flexible hybrid working pattern for this role.
Responsibility for ensuring the team have prepared all accounting entries accurately and in line with corporate deadlines
Responsibility for ensuring the team prepare invoices in a timely manner and in accordance with the commercial terms of the contract
Ensure results are accurately reported and analysed
Effective management of a small accounting team
Manage the team, making sure everything is reviewed prior to sharing with stakeholders
Providing analysis of bill and cost rates, and margins to manage profitability as required
Preparation and ownership of annual plan and quarterly reforecast in conjunction with Business
Management and finance team
Responsibility for compliance with Financial management Framework within the individual's sphere of control
Responsibility for ensuring the team focus on cash collection, optimisation of DSO and minimisation of unbilled items together with ensuring these balance sheet areas are appropriately reconciled, analysed and controlled by the team
Liaising with external, internal and client auditors
Reporting of financial performance to Business Management team and finance manager
Linkage with Business Manager and contracts administrator regarding any contractural aspects
Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required
Qualifications:
Further education through College or University with a recognized accounting qualification
Qualified CIMA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Several years relevant accounting experience
Proficient user of excel
People supervision experience and skills
Good commercial experience
Good at using ERP and other IT systems (Oracle, Hyperion)

Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships
Good people skills and ability to develop team
Customer focused - internally and externally
Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation
