Purpose:


A further key element of this role is to add value through the provision of data insights identifying issues of risk, cost, inefficiency and using the data to inform good business decision making.

A key part of this is to ensure all data is accurate and up to date, safeguarding data integrity and thus credibility of insights.


The Role:


Key responsibilities of the post include:

  • Ownership overall for all People reporting
  • including (but not limited to) employee data, headcount reporting, People & Sustainability KPIs & dashboards, annual and ad hoc pay, bonus and benefit reporting, benchmarking analytics, diversity reporting, organisational structures etc
  • Developing and maintaining a bank of selfservice reports available to the People & Sustainability team and wider business based on specified user requirements
  • Providing specialist People data reporting/analysis and project support to People & Sustainability team ensuring effective data collection, analysis and reporting on confidential People data
  • Managing the data requirements associated with annual or ad hoc processes e.g. annual pay review, bonus management, benchmarking activities
  • Analysing People data to identify trends and process improvements and inform overall People effectiveness/efficiency improvement
  • Providing solution focused insight on key trends or risks discovered
  • Interpreting statistics and data in an easily understandable format
  • Ensure effective maintenance of all People related systems
  • Subject matter expert for People information systems knowledge, insight and future development making suggestions and proposals accordingly to ensure we stay current in this field and benefit from digitisation
  • Acting as Key User for all People information systems and be the first point of contact for vendor relationship management
  • Partner with HRIS provider (currently Access) to understand future development Roadmap and ensure effective input into this to obtain most relevant changes for our needs
  • Responsible for managing the upload of any mass data changes into MU People Hub e.g. annual pay review, bonus payments, TUPE transfers etc. and ensuring robust reconciliation and audit processes are in place
  • Monitoring the SLA performance for Access and other People Systems and being the point of contact for issues escalation
  • Proactively manage and monitor data integrity in MU People Hub and providing insights/interventions as required, establishing a cycle of data quality audits
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities within MU People Hub with a view to driving People process efficiency and continually enhancing the user experience
  • Acting as controller for the governance of access rights in MU People Hub
  • Identifying opportunities to digitise and streamline People data handling, centralising where possible into MU People Hub.
  • Maximising MU People Hub People MI capability
  • Building relationships by developing and understanding MI requirements within the People & Sustainability team and wider business, especially Finance, Payroll, IT and any systems related stakeholders, and the tools required to manage the process
  • Ensuring the People & Sustainability team processes adhere to SOx requirements and other audit processes and acting as the lead contact for the team during any audits (internal and external)
  • Ensuring robust data management processes and protocols are in place in line with GDPR requirements and standards. Act as internal auditor for People & Sustainability team
  • Act as key People & Sustainability project contributor on any further modules of MU People Hub
  • Able to articulate and communicate well with key stakeholders, taking responsibility for, successfully lead and deliver on relevant project initiatives, such as maximising MU People Hub
  • Use own initiative to identify and make changes for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for managing any version changes/upgrades within MU People Hub
  • Responsible for communicating/updating the People & Sustainability team on any key changes within MU People Hub
  • Training any new People & Sustainability team users on MU People Hub appropriate to their role
  • Build and develop effective working relationships with all key stakeholders, especially Finance, Payroll, IT and any systems related stakeholders
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR at all times
  • Undertake continuous professional development, ensuring knowledge of all relevant legislation and codes of practice
  • Undertake any necessary internal or external training sessions and take personal responsibility for selfdevelopment to realise own potential
  • Work on any projects as agreed by the Head of People Services

The Person:


  • Confidence working with large data sets as an advanced MS Excel user
  • Excellent knowledge of HRIS solutions
  • Proactive in providing solutions and improvements
