UE06 £31,396 to £36,024 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £32,982 to £38,205 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

The Opportunity:

We are looking for 3 space-enthusiasts to help with the College Research Theme in Space and Satellites.


With humans going back to the Moon before the end of this decade, the College of Science and Engineering wish to explore how research at Edinburgh University might contribute to the Artemis endeavour and beyond.

You will play a vital role in highlighting the connections between the Artemis Technical Roadmap and the activities in Edinburgh.

Your results will form part of a report to the College of Science and Engineering's Space and Satellite team.

In addition, you will arrange a series of guest speakers to talk about Artemis-related topics, as well as contributing to social media messaging around these topics.

The posts are hosted by the School of GeoSciences, but applicants can be from anywhere across the university.


Your skills and attributes for success:
It is essential that you have enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, the wider space sector. This might include space technology, space data and space science, as well as the social dimensions of outer space.

You should have completed a Batchelors Degree in a relevant discipline.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work both without supervision and collaboratively.

Organisational skills sufficient to run seminars effectively.

Good level of awareness of the importance of EDI (in all aspects of the work).
