Are you ready for a dynamic and stimulating work environment? An exciting opportunity is available for a temporary role as a Clinical Research Fellow in Transplantation. This position offers excellent prospects to engage in research aligned with the Department's ongoing projects and the individual's interests.

The primary research focus is on non-invasive markers of pancreas rejection, exploring cell free DNA, pancreas prohormones, and exosomes in diagnosing acute rejection of pancreas allografts. This nationally collaborative study (EMPAR) holds full REC and institutional approvals and is currently in progress.

The postholder will lead and coordinate this research, participating in necessary experimental work. Due to the collaboration's national nature, some travel to partner units may be required.

This role:

  • Combines research and clinical responsibilities, supporting various areas such as Dialysis Access Surgery, General Surgery, Transplant Surgery, and National Organ Retrieval.
  • Ensures compliance with the EWTD of Junior Doctors.

The postholder, alongside a team, will provide out-of-hours coverage for the Transplant Unit under direct supervision. Organ Retrieval coverage is also part of the rotational duties.
