We are recruiting a Payroll Controller to join their team of 8 on a permanent basis.

This position is based in West Sussex and works on a hybrid model, based in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, (they have free parking on site and are based5-10 minutes' walk from the nearest station).

This role will have supervisory responsibilities for a small team of administrators, and reports to the Payroll Manager.

Key responsibilities held within this role include:

  • Processing staff starting and returning from maternity leave, starters and leavers.
  • Calculating adjustments required, including prorata calculations.
  • Completing end of period payroll reporting for review by the Payroll Manager.
  • Supervising the Payroll Administrators and Payroll Support Administrator to ensure their work is up to date, and support with training where required.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager in the delivery of an accurate payroll by importing and reconciling uplifts to salaries and various benefits the company offers.

Key skills required for this role include:

  • Previous experience of supervising a team
  • A good general standard of education, including GCSC (or equivalent) in Maths and English at C or above
  • A minimum of 2 years' inhouse payroll experience
  • Methodical, organised, and accurate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Excellent team player
