    Job Title:
    Food Technology Teacher


    Location:
    Wigan

    Start Date: 13th May

    Salary:
    £180 - £220 per day (dependant on experience)

    Are you a passionate and dedicated Food Technology teacher with a proven track record in strong behaviour management? We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Secondary School Food Technology teacher to join a school in Wigan that is driven for excellence.

    This is a 6-week placement starting on the 13th May with the potential to carry on for the rest of academic year.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Planning and preparing Food Technology lessons up to KS4 level.
    • Utilize strong behaviour management strategies to ensure a conducive atmosphere for learning.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and personal development.
    • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the Food Technology department and the school.

    Requirements:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE in Secondary Education. Must specialise in Food Technology.
    • Alternatively, substantial and valuable experience teaching these subjects at Secondary School level.
    • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or a willingness to obtain one before starting.

    Skills and Attributes:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Exceptional behaviour management skills to create a positive and focused learning environment.
    • Passion for inspiring the next generation of Food Technology students.
    • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
    • Effective classroom management skills.
