The role
As a Procurement Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

You'll be leading on the management of strategic suppliers, developing and implementing a robust supplier management program, that captures both Babcock and supplier relationship building activities and provide a long-term platform that maximises value over the full relationship cycle.

Day to day, you'll work alongside a team of SME's in transformation supporting the wider supply chain function.


Your key responsible will include:

  • Leading the relationship with key suppliers, working collaboratively to deliver shared goals
  • Negotiating supplier agreements and contracts
  • Improving governance and management of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) plans
  • Creating best practice SRM methodology across the organisation & supporting the Group SRM strategy
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement best practice toolsets which can be used across the wider organisation
  • Developing processes and tools to enable the wider function

Essential experience of the Procurement Specialist:

  • Prior procurement experience
  • Supplier relationship and contract management experience
  • Experience managing supply chain risk
  • Strong communication skills across all levels
  • Internal and external stakeholder management
  • Experience in negotiating supplier agreements and contracts
  • Demonstrable experience of value delivery
  • Strong commercial acumen
We offer flexible working across 36 hours per week.

There is a hybrid working arrangement of at least 2 days required on site per week in Devonport with the remaining days to be completed from home.


Qualifications for the Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:

  • CIPS Level 4 qualified
