An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised person to provide efficient, confidential and professional administrative support to Safeguarding Vulnerable Womens Team (Unborn).


This interesting and rewarding role will include administration and support of a variety of work programs in relation to Safeguarding Children.


You will need strong IT skills, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to liaise between professional teams responsible for Safeguarding Children both within and external to the Trust to enable us to provide a high quality service.

You will need to be adaptable and resilient with the ability to prioritise effectively.

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative in a logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with interruptions.

You will monitor the department's inbox and incoming phone call and manage the database to which provides management with an overview of safeguarding activity.

You will need to be able to demonstrate

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a good command of English, punctuation and grammar
  • Experience in Microsoft Office packages
  • IT capable to ensure proficient use of hospital computer systems
  • An excellent, professional telephone manner
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Ability to use own judgement and initiative as appropriate

The post-holder will primarily provide efficient, confidential and professional administrative support to Named Nurse and Safeguarding Professionals responsible for Vulnerable Women's Team.

This will include administration and support of a variety of work programs in relation to children's and vulnerable women's safeguarding services.

Good communication skills between professional teams who are responsible for safeguarding both internally and externally to the Trust is essential to provide high quality services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Educated to GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
  • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent experience Minimum 1 years experience in a hospital or office environment
  • IT experience of Microsoft Office packages
  • IT capable to ensure proficient use of hospital computer systems
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and to work to deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with a good command and understanding of English, punctuation and grammar
  • Good interpersonal skills for dealing with people internal and external to the organisation
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Act as a single point of entry for:
  • Clinical patient specific data relating to our patients
  • Supporting Vulnerable Women protection activity
- to include

  • Enter safeguarding alert information on hospital systems for women.
  • Collation of all safeguarding alerts and referrals submitted to and from social care that relate to the unborn and children (018years) attending the Trust, to ensure the information is entered on to a secure database, actioned and the response and outcome tracked.
  • Pulling and filing information in notes.
  • Support the further development of processes and databases to provide managerial oversight of safeguarding processes as guided by clinical staff.
  • Responsibility for data entry and managing the Safeguarding inbox for the Division.
  • Assist with the collation of data for trend monitoring of safeguarding activity. e.g alerts received via Datixweb.
  • Liaise with external agencies on safeguarding matters and coordinate and track requests by the MASH and through GSCB Allegations management.
