    An exciting opportunity has arisen to support, educate and prepare families for the arrival of a newborn baby with a wide range of congenital heart disease.

    We are looking for an experienced children's cardiac specialist nurse to join our current dynamic fetal nurse specialist team.

    We are looking for a cardiac children's nurse with vision and enthusiasm to contribute to the continued quality and the developmental success of the service,with a commitment to children and families both internal and external to the trust.

    The role includes managing your own caseload of families with complex cardiac needs providing complex psychosocial support & preparing them for a variety of cardiac pathways they will be embarking on.

    You will need to work closely with the multiprofessional team, including the fetal cardiologist, paediatric cardiologists, paediatricians, fetal echocardiographers, obstetricians, local community services and allied health professionals.

    Academic/Professional Qualificatoin/Training
    On the relevant part of the NMC register i.e. Children's registered and evidence of revalidation.
    Evidence of ongoing, dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty, linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
    Ability to support families across all cultural diversities.

    Sufficient experience as a senior nurse, including relevant clinical environment
    Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints
    Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues
    Excellent cardiac specialist knowledge, including foetal circulation anatomy

    Computer literacy, presentation skills and experience of databases
