- You will have a Specialist Level 6 qualification in safeguarding (PAN-London level), social work, or mental health and a Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification.
- You will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of equality, child protection and safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- A deep understanding of current issues in FE & HE, in particular, as it relates to pastoral and wellbeing student support issues is essential for the role.
- You will have substantial team management experience.
- You will have extensive experience of providing student support services on a range of issues in a similar environment, including oversight of personal development and relevant designated safeguarding lead and child protection experience.
- You will have the ability to establish effective working relations and build trust quickly with a range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels (staff, students, visitors, governors, volunteers, external partners/agencies).
- You will have effective leadership and line management (high constructive challenge; high support) in order to develop team members and improve service delivery.

About The Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Personal Progression to lead on the strategic development of the overall personal progression provision within the EFI Group. The Head of Personal Progression will provide day-to-day operational management of the EFI Groups Personal Progression Team, which comprises safeguarding; wellbeing (pastoral); futures teams (careers & progression; industry development). This will include managing a range of professionals within the team, ensuring a holistic approach to fostering and celebrating a strong culture of safeguarding, wellbeing, resilience, progression and inclusion, leading to the best possible outcome for every student.
An experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead with a strong background and qualifications in safeguarding (social care) or mental health education, the post holder will ensure that the personal progression offer at EFI is at the forefront of research-based and evidenced practice. They will manage a dynamic and passionate student support and wellbeing service where every team member is genuinely committed to doing the very best by each and every single EFI student across all curriculum strands.
