We are currently seeking to recruit a caring, committed, and reliable Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Penmount Grange for full time days shifts 36 hours p/w


Westheath Care Homes (Staffing) Ltd provides care staff to five care homes owned and operated by a private company located in Bodmin, Lanivet, Lewannick (Nr Launceston) and Bude area.

All of which have obtained and maintained a 'Good' CQC rating.


We provide high standards of person-centred care to a wide range of elderly and disabled people from St Austell on the South coast to Bude on the North coast with a dedicated team of Senior Carers, Care Assistants and a strong team of experienced Managers that have a high number of years working in care.

An interview, references and an Enhanced DBS check will be carried out by the company on you prior to final confirmation of a job offer (this will be paid for by the company - but may be repaid to the company should you leave within a 3-month period), you will be enrolled into our induction programme this will be followed by shadow shifts, enabling you to become confident in your new role.

Previous experience is desired, however, if you are new to care, we provide comprehensive training within our induction programme.


Duties will consist of providing person-centred care for our residents through a range of care and support services, encouraging Independence in a dignified and compassionate manner.


To participate in the emotional and physical care of service users seeking to provide as far as possible, a happy, stimulating, safe and stable environment.

To care for service users by washing and bathing service users and assisting with dressing and undressing. Assisting with toileting requirements of service users, especially those who are physically, mentally frail or confused.

Assisting service users with their mobility by the use of mobility aids provided for their use.

To prepare and serve food to ensure standards are met in respect of nutrition, environmental health, special diets etc.

  • Highly motivated and driven to achieve high standards
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as own initiative when required
  • Must be able to work every other weekend
  • Provide cover when other team members take annual leave or are absent for other reasons
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with residents and others
  • Experience in health and social care is preferable not but essential
  • Care Certificate or NVQ level 2 or above in Health and social Care or willingness to achieve

In return, you can expect competitive rates of pay, a minimum number of contracted hours per week and an equivalent to 6 weeks of annual leave per employment year (this will be your weekly contracted hours x 6)
