- To work collaboratively with the Area Service Manager, Head of Nursing and the Senior Multidisciplinary team to develop a vision for staff that ensures a positive, high performing, productive and supportive culture.

The Derwent Unit is our newly built adult acute (mental health ) unit on the Chesterfield Royal Hospital site. Sycamore inpatient ward is being developed as a flexible ward within the Unit, with the ability to admit both male and female patients across three defined areas within the ward to maintain single sex status but to allow us to use the ward resource where most needed within Derbyshire Healthcare Trust, providing a high standard of patient-centred evidence-based care for our service users. The ward is on the Derwent Unit which also has a defined male ward ,Oak Ward, and defined female (Willow Ward) acute ward, alongside Sycamore Ward.

Our Trust is currently building two brand new pioneering mental health facilities, one of which is the Derwent Unit in the north of the county and the other will be on the Kingsway Hospital site in Derby, alongside a purpose built PICU Unit and Female High Dependency Ward allowing us to support all patients within the Trust and Derbyshire.
