The Commercial Team sits within the Chief Finance Officer Directorate within the CPS; leading end-to-end commercial lifecycle activities, the team is structured into Category, Contract Management team, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Transition and Policy and Governance teams.

Job description:

To assist in providing a professional commercial support service to our internal clients.

This will include but is not limited to supplier financial standing assessments, providing information on contracts, reporting on supplier performance, risks and issues.


Provide support for a portfolio of contracts, attending meetings, analysing monthly management information and supplier performance to achieve savings targets.


You will be expected to operate within the Contract Management Framework (CPS commercial policy), utilising the tools and governance guides detailed within.


Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcome from service delivery arrangements.


To assist in the implementation of the Commercial Team Business Plan and to provide a professional procurement service to all Procurement and Commercial Services internal and external clients.

This will include but is not limited to assisting with the undertaking of tendering projects, pre
- and post-implementation evaluation, supplier selection, and contract award and category management for specified procurement areas.

  • Provide administrative, procurement and contract management support to suppliers, internal stakeholders and peers in relation to goods and services, using existing policies and guidance.
  • Establish relationships with a range of commercial team members, suppliers and customers to support delivery of business outcomes.
  • Manage workload and resolve issues where practical or escalate them where complexities arise, providing suggestions for progression and following through to conclusion as delegated by management.
