Product Design Engineer
Westbury
**Full Time Permanent Role
- 40 hours a week**
Salary dependant on experience
We are delighted to be working on behalf of a design and manufacturing company to help them secure a permanent full time Product Design Engineer to lead their team in Westbury.
Our client designs, manufactures and installs bespoke metal fittings for architectural developments, the company focuses on high quality and outstanding delivery and creation of products for their customers.
You will be working closely with the engineering team to create functional design concepts; to test existing designs and to oversee thedevelopment projects.
Previous experience in engineering is essential, you'll have a talent for design and be comfortable with working with other internal teams.
You'll also have the ability to use your design skills to create functional and attractive productsthat are cost-effective and user friendly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
- Creating design projects and specification sheets.
- Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders.
- Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes.
- Testing prototype products for functionality, easeofuse, and longevity.
- Overseeing the production process.
- Develop new product in conjunction with the sales team whilst working closely with Engineering
- Resolving product issues.
- Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions.
- Collaborating with the sales and marketing department on product feasibility.
- Liaising with Sales and Engineering to ensure that new products are introduced successfully into production.
- Monitoring and reporting on the process within your control to ensure adequate review and analysis.
- Personal training and development to sure personal and business success.
- Meeting with business management, marketing, and the sales team to discuss product ideas.
- You may from time to time be require undertaking other duties as the management may reasonably require.
Key Skills:
- BSc. in engineering (or equivalent)
- Product design/development experience
- IT literacy
- Solid works experience
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing processes
- Dynamic and committed to putting things into practice quickly and effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent man manager who leads by example
- Selfstarter who can work on own initiative
