Description

My client is a UK law firm with offices in central London and the South-East which has a history dating back to the 1880s.

They advise on a wide variety of legal issues, from family law to commercial litigation.


They are now looking for a Senior Legal Cashier, working within the Cashiers Team your primary responsibility will be to support the day to function of the team and wider finance team made up of the Finance Director, Head Cashier, 2 Junior Cashiers and CreditControl Team members.

Providing cover for the Head Cashier and other team members when required.


Responsibilities

  • Review dormant client account balances with consideration to SRA Rules and other projects, such as the review of credit disbursements and the payment of matter suppliers
  • Offering support to core functions within Cashiers team
  • Reviewing the firms' client accounts for funds received and informing the related fee earner promptly, before recording the receipt on the appropriate ledger in accordance with SRA.
  • Processing HMLR and search provider invoices
  • Processing client account payment requests via Telegraphic Transfer and cheque
  • Processing requests to transfer client funds in settlement of the firm's fees in accordance with SRA Rules
  • Reviewing the firm's bills account and accurately allocating funds.
  • Processing of employee expenses.
  • Recording of Counsel and Professional disbursements for the purposes of billing and the subsequent payments required
  • Making online payments including international payments in GBP, EUR and USD
  • Taking credit card payments over the phone using Barclaycard EDPQ system
  • Recording and payment of the Firms supplier invoices
  • Client, Office and Deposit Bank Reconciliations
  • Billing
  • Ensuring compliance with the firm' policies and Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Proactive team player with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good Excel skills
  • Highly motivated individual who will be able to deal effectively with conflicting requirements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deal with high volumes of work under pressure, with consideration to the related deadlines.
