Description
We have a new opportunity for an experienced Designer to join our team in Salford, Manchester.

The successful person will be designing innovative boys, girls &adults licensed product nightwear, daywear, and other garments for some of the UK's biggest retail brands.


Key Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the Sales team & Customer to interpret the customers design requirements, translate these into design concepts then develop and sell the design concepts.
  • To design ranges/garments, taking into consideration both manufacturing and aesthetic design requirements.
  • To plan and produce samples and visual aids to meet the customers requirements / deadlines.
  • Provide accurate complete Design Costing Sheets taking into account cost parameters.
  • Attend weekly workload Design Meetings with the Design Team Leader
  • Assess and evaluate design trends and identify areas of potential growth such as product or customer base.
  • Attend customer & licensor meetings, take design briefs and present ranges.
  • To work with design team on licensing pitches & presentations.
  • To identify concerns which may impact customer satisfaction and work with the Account Manager / Executive to resolve these.
  • Meet sales targets per customer per season agreed with Design Team Leader.
  • To take lead on customer accounts allocated by Design Team Leader, which will involve attending meetings, designingand presenting.
  • Understand customer strategy by regular store visits, regular online research and by seeking customer feedback
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in the design area and implement these in agreement with your manager.

Requirements:


Essential

  • Significant experience designing licensed character clothing products
  • Experience of 2D/ 3D computerized design packages, i.e. Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop/InDesign, CLO
  • Demonstrable previous experience of dealing with customers and licensors.
  • An HND/degree in design minimum.
  • Experienced in the use of MS office, particularly MS Word & Excel.

Desirable

  • 3D CAD Design ideally Browzwear
  • Experience of garment technology.
  • QC experience of garments & fabric.
  • Experience of designing kids wear.
Applicants must be Willing to undertake limited travel throughout the UK/abroad and have a clean current driving license.
