About the Role

***This is an exciting time to join Children's Services as the newly created Assistant Holiday Scheme Coordinator role will be imperative for future growth and success of the Holiday Scheme.


The role is a combination of supporting the Holiday Scheme Coordinator in the preparation and planning for each Holiday Scheme and managing the day-to-day operations of each programme.


You will provide support in administrative tasks which briefly includes creating an enriching timetable of activities, recruiting staff, managing booking systems and paying invoices, and supporting the Holiday Scheme Coordinator to ensure the scheme is financially self-funding.


When the programmes are in operation, you will take the lead role in the day-to-day management, be committed to the care and safeguarding of children aged 5 to 12 years old and have a professional approach and attitude towards children, parents and staff.

This will include leading and supporting a team of Holiday Scheme Leaders and Managers by providing guidance and training in the pursuit of an exceptional childcare service.


This role will require an enhanced DBS check with child's barred list

About You

***You will be an enthusiastic individual who is passionate and experienced in working with children aged 5 to 12 years old.

You will be dedicated to developing a team of staff to ensure we offer exceptional childcare provision.


You will be able to use your initiative and problem solve in circumstances such as staff absence, child sickness and parent requests.


You will be available to work on campus during the following school holidays: February, Easter, May, summer and October. The exact dates reflect the holidays published by Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council and coincide with local school holiday dates.


You will be an organised individual who is self-motivated to work from home when the programmes are not in operation.

***The University of Warwick Holiday Scheme has been offering a childcare provision during school holidays for nearly 10 years. During this time, the Scheme has grown in popularity, and we are now working towards expanding our current model to meet the increased demand.

Our ethos is to provide children with enriching activities that they might not have experienced before.

The programmes offer an inspiring range of educational and cultural activities so that children can discover something different every day.

You will be joining a well-established team of Leaders and Managers who are mostly students and employed through Unitemps.

You will also be a key figure in recruitment as we regularly welcome new team members once existing staff complete their university education.
