Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;

Both Reactive & Planned Installation, Maintenance & Repair of all Illuminated Street Furniture (Street Lighting Columns / Illuminated Signs / Illuminated Bollards / Feeder Pillars)

Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;

To undertake highways works including reactive and planned installation, maintenance and repair columns, signs, feeder pillars and bollards, fault finding and repairs, general inspection, completing certification. Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues

Formal qualifications required;

Math & English Grade C or better

Valid Clean Driving Licence with HGV Class.2 (Rigid over 7.5T)

Valid Certification for Lorry mounted Crane - Operator

Valid Certification for Lorry mounted Crane - Slinger

CSCS Basic Health & Safety Awareness

Emergency First Aid at Work

Manual Handling

New Roads & Street Works units 1-5

Skills required;

Good time management

Good communication skills

Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision

Ability to read plans

Ability to work to deadlines

Careful and precise

Able to use basic computer programmes i.e. Word, Excel etc

Open to Training

Experience required;

Working on the Highways network

Working in accordance with company Safe systems of work and Health & Safety Regulations

Completing Job Packs, Site Specific Risk Assessments, Daily Report Sheets

Creating & maintaining a safe working environment

Housekeeping

Avoidance of underground services

Carrying out safe excavations

Installation of columns/poles by use of crane/hiab
