    Community Psychiatric Nurse (CAMHs)

    Band 6 £37,831 - £46,100 per annum

    Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,279 per annum

    37.5 hours per week

    This post is eligible for relocation expenses

    NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.     An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN qualification) to work within NHS Western Isles as part of our expanding CAMHs Team. Working closely with local statutory and voluntary agencies within a GIRFEC framework, candidates can enjoy the challenges of providing mental health services within busy rural mental health settings on the beautiful Western Isles.

    Our vacancy is based in Stornoway with commitment to inter-island travel across the islands as required. We are seeking a forward thinking, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to appoint to our team as we strive to meet the National Service Specifications and standards. Working within the community sector the post holder will carry a diverse caseload across tier 3/4, providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families. Utilising integrated working processes this post is pivotal for the developing of services to meet the mental health needs of vulnerable young people.

    Candidates will ideally have:

  • First level Registered Mental Nurse qualification.
  • Post registration experience within acute care
  • Be educated to degree level at minimum
  • Experience within a CAMHS Service or the ability to deliver psychological therapies would be an advantage
