DevOps Manager

West Midlands or Manchester Based - In office every 2 weeks

A media client of ours, headquartered in the West Midlands are looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to join their well-established DevOps team.

This role plays a key part in the performance of the client's DevOps function. Open to a strong senior whohas mentored a team of DevOps engineers.

The Role

Manage and mentor junior and graduate engineers from enrolment.

Conducting systems analysis, improving policies, procedures, and implementations.

Contributing to design, documentation, deployment in the team.

Working effectively with other departments such as software engineers to resolve any issues.

Having experience in conducting interviews for open vacancies.

Conduct analysis and implement strategies in the DevOps team to work more efficiently.

Having regular meetings with the team to work around any potential issues or problems that arise.

Ongoing support provided to clients and employees.

Managing systems to correct any issues.

Skills:

Experience working with AWS / Azure, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform or CloudFormation as IaC, Kubernetes and docker containerisation/ orchestration tools.

In-depth knowledge of DevOps best practices and tools, exceptional understanding surrounding DevOps culture.

Good managerial and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate within and between teams.

Having mentored and supported a team of DevOps engineers.

Ability to work with stakeholders to understand and deliver their DevOps requirements.

Experience working in a fast-paced cross functional team environment.

Education

A 2:1 in Computer Science or related degree.
