Hackney is one of Britain's most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself.


As a Libraries Officer you will work as a team to deliver a customer-focussed library service to the local community.


You will have a track record of delivering excellent customer care, good IT knowledge, a keen interest in stock knowledge and a strong focus on community.

As a Libraries Officer you will deliver events including regular story times and reader development programmes such as the Summer Reading Challenge and World Book Day.

You will also support in the delivery of seasonal and celebratory programmes such as Black History Season.


This is a frontline role and you will be based at one of the seven branch libraries, but expected to work across the borough.

The library service is open seven days a week, late nights are Monday to Thursday.
