DAD is looking for a person committed to equality and peoples rights, who wants to make a real difference through the delivery and development of Oliver McGowan training in the North East leading to improving lives of people with a learning disability and autistic people locally. In addition the collaborative is supporting agencies to develop their own capacity to train their workforce.
Comprehensive training will be provided including becoming a lead trainer, this enables the post holder to train other people to become trainers. It is likely this will involve a 5-day residential stay in another part of the country.
The role....
Salary: £26,000 to £27,000 per annum pro rata dependent on experience and skills.
Hours: 25 hours per week

Job Description
Project Development Officer (Oliver McGowan Training)
Grade/Salary: £26, £27,000 per annum. Pro rata for 25 hours per week. Salary dependent on experience and skills.
Responsible to: Project Coordinator Deputy Chief Executive, Chief Executive and the Executive Committee of Darlington Association on Disability
Area of Work: Based at Enterprise House, Valley Street, Darlington, other DAD premises, training locations and outreach as required within the Northeast Region
Hours: 25 hours per week
Holidays: 25 days per annum pro rata plus Bank Holidays, rising after 3 years of service
Other: Pension, Sick scheme, Additional holidays after 3 years of employment, Employer assistance programme, GP Helpline.
Travel: Mileage allowance/travel costs are reimbursed for work-related expenses. Car driver with access to a vehicle is essential or access to vehicle and driver.
Objective of the Post:
To work alongside a Project Coordinator to develop, organise and deliver Oliver Mc Gowan Training.

Main Duties Oliver Mc Gowan training:
· To train as a lead trainer to deliver Oliver Mc Gowan training.
· To recruit and support co trainers who have a learning impairment and autistic people to co deliver Oliver Mc Gowan Training.
· Deliver training excellent quality training and present to wide range of audiences in formats which are accessible.
· Work alongside other lead trainers to ensure training delivered is high quality.
· Support experts to train as trainers, including support experts to gain employment in this role.
· Work with other agencies both statutory and non-statutory to identify how we can support their work force to receive Oliver Mc Gowan Training.
· Support agencies in a flexible and proactive way to develop their own capacity.
· Organise and deliver training with experts.
· Support co trainers flexibly in all areas of their post.
· Attend meetings and steering groups in relation to the project.
· Undertake administration needed as part of the project.
· Support the project to be financially sustainable in the future including costing and invoicing for payment for training.
· Be proactive in ongoing personal and professional development.
· Produce reports, monitoring and evaluation and other documents as needed.
