    £You have experience in data protection and understand the legislative requirements organisations must comply with, alongside a desire to progress your knowledge and experience.
    You are passionate about the protection of personal data and its appropriate use to support service delivery.
    Walsall Council is looking to appoint an Information Governance and Assurance Officer.

    In this key role, you will work closely with the Data Protection Manager while:

    Managing and reporting on Data Protection Incidents and ensuring the governance board remain up to date on current breaches and lessons learnt.

    Informing and advising the organisation and its employees about their obligations to comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws.

    Monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, including managing and supporting internal data protection activities, advise on data protection impact assessments; Supporting the Data Protection manager, Senior Information Risk Owner, Caldicott Guardian and governance groups or forums in respect of Data Protection legislation, the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations and other related legislation and regulation relating to Information risk and governance matters.

    You will work with services to ensure information governance principles and practices are embedded in everything we do.
