Permanent, full-time post (37.5 hours per week)
Location Macclesfield, Cheshire East
Salary £24,775 - £26,597
This requires the ability to work on a rolling rota basis covering days, evenings, weekends and occasional waking nights across our Housing Related Support provision across Cheshire East.
As a Senior Project Worker, you will provide Housing Related Support and recovery support people who have a history of failed accommodation placement, substance and/or alcohol misuse, criminality and often challenging and negative behaviours.
Working within a Psychologically Informed Environment you will be responsible for case coordination of individuals residing in the project and the provision of both opportunistic and structured interventions.
You will also take a senior role in supporting and leading the staff team and covering for our Housing Team Leader in sickness or absence.
Working with a blend of Housing First and harm reduction techniques, you will be assessing need, preparing tenancy support plans and supporting tenants to achieve their individual goals.
What you will be doing
- Providing ongoing support for staff within the team and be involved in the recruitment, induction and training of staff and professional volunteers.
- Working with the Local Authority and other agencies to create moveon options and improve the health and wellbeing of tenants through direct 11 work.
- Within a delegated portfolio of services, ensure the effective implementation of serious untoward incident reporting in line with policy and procedures, and implementing lessons learned.
- Supporting the development of recovery and employment initiatives for tenants across Cheshire East, working with local third sector and grass roots organisations, associations, and individuals.
- Implement and manage systems to ensure residents are safe, meaningfully engaged and moving forward in their lives.
- Liaison with Housing Services to ensure benefit claims are submitted and processed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensuring residents understand their tenancy agreement and their rights and obligations.
Some of the skills, knowledge and experience you will have
- A keen and comprehensive awareness of homelessness issues, interventions and understanding specific ways to support tenants with ingrained and entrenched negative behaviours.
- Excellent allround communication skills and the ability to manage relationships.
- Experience of housing management or working in a residential setting with those with complex needs including challenging and/or negative behaviour.
- An ability to undertake accurate and comprehensive assessments of need, identifying levels of risk, recovery potential and establishing immediate and longerterm recovery goals.
- Excellent skills and demonstrable experience in report writing and incident reporting.
- A flexible attitude towards your work and a knowledge of local services and geography in Cheshire East.
- Flexibility and access to transport as you may be required to visit other sites across Cheshire East.
