WHAT TO EXPECT


The Chassis Product Owner is a new role that has been created to lead a transformational shift in performance of the Vehicle Programme Delivery Process Chain and to play a key interface between the Chassis Head of Process Chain, External Engineering Service Provider, JLR Core Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing functions who are critical supply partners to create and deliver the final completed product.

The role will be responsible for a Chassis commodity area.

The specialist focus of the role will guide, coordinate and influence critical Chassis delivery through working in conjunction with the External Engineering Service Provider to define overall delivery plan, priorisation of backlog, individual sprint goals and validation of quality of event of sprint outcomes.


The Chassis Product Owner will also engage with internal Core Engineering resource where required and will ensure governance of the associated commodity creation and delivery system.

The role holder will have a systems view of the entire delivery landscape for their Commodities and Systems, and will work closely with the Chassis Head of Process Chain & other Product Owners to ensure these support delivery of the overall system and vehicle.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Product Owner responsible for their sub system of the Chassis commodity throughout the lifecycle
  • Responsible for supervising Engineering Service Provider delivery of their subsystem through sprint planning, prioritisation of backlog and validation of sprint outcomes
  • Accountable for xfunctional integration and support to deliver Q-CT targets.
  • Ensures seamless integration between programme and External Engineering Delivery Partner and/or CoC including support for target cascades and Jaguar review and approval of virtual and physical validation
  • Responsible for engineering sign off of their subsystem.
  • Leads business evaluation and creates programme recommendation on content changes / assumptions to optimise programme performance
  • Leadership of Crossfunctional process chain for their subsystem
  • Ensures Engineering Service Provider leadership of CCDS Operation and Governance (incl. APQP) ensuring adherence to PSW
  • Leads Issue Management, Provides recommendation on major conflicts (Q-CT) to Head of Process Chain
