  • About the Role:


Here at, Maidstone Borough Council we are expanding our Housing Management service who oversee all our accommodation stock across the district including supporting the provision of temporary accommodation for homeless households.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accommodation Officer to join our busy Accommodation Team, on a full-time basis working 37 hours per week, with the scope for agile working under the Council's new agile working arrangements, dependant on the needs of service.

The job is to provide effective operational and administration support within the Accommodation Team.

This post will be support key administrational tasks across the housing management service including processing of invoices, supporting the Accommodation Officers, supporting the collection of housing benefits information and being a point of contact for the section.


To work effectively within a team to ensure the highest possible standard of service to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders alike.

To be compassionate towards homeless individuals and households who are experiencing stressful and challenging situations.


Over the next five years we are looking to expand our affordable accommodation, by an additional 1000 properties, so this post will be an integral part of the team developing that growth.


About You:


You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, include English and Mathematics at Grade C or above or experience in a similar role.

You will have a practical understanding of local authority housing service and processes


You will have experience of providing administrative support within a busy service, processing invoices within agreed timeframes and managing financial databases.
