    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Full-Time Locum Consultant Haematologist with expertise in Haemostasis and Thrombosis for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The position is initially for 12 months, with a possible extension of up to another 12 months.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The appointee, along with consultant colleagues, will lead the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Service. The ideal candidate will also take on additional leadership roles and collaborate effectively with the team to deliver high-quality services in this teaching hospital setting.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • GMC registration with a licence to practise.

    Desirable

    • MD or PhD or equivalent.
    • Specialist register inclusion or eligibility within six months of interview.

    Clinical Experience

    Essential

    • Ability to work independently in Haematology.
    • Broad clinical experience and specialist training in haematological disorders management.

    Desirable

    • Interest in haemostasis and thrombosis with relevant experience.
    • Experience in managing patients with bleeding and thrombotic disorders.

    Research

    Essential

    • Ability to evaluate research for clinical practice.

    Desirable

    • Published articles in peer-reviewed journals.

    Teaching and Training

    Essential

    • Teaching experience at all levels.

    Continuous Professional Development

    Essential

    • Participation in CME/CPD in the last year.

    Desirable

    • Maintenance of a CPD diary.

    Management and Administration

    Essential

    • Experience in management and working with groups.

    Clinical Governance and Audit

    Essential

    • Clinical audit experience.

    Desirable

    • Completion and publication of an audit or service improvement project.
