The Role:We're looking for a part time cook to join Leyland Court, a sheltered service for 24 elderly residents in central Southend (free parking is available on site). The key purpose is to provide a highquality, nutritious, hot lunchtime meal to the people who live at Leyland Court.

If you are a positive and enthusiastic person who can develop relationships with our residents and ensure meals are cooked in line with their wishes this could be the role for you.

You will have the freedom to create menus through discussion with the residents.

The residents enjoy themed dinner days so you can be creative, and they would love to see baked cakes back in the bistro There is some flexibility on the start and finish time as outlined above and there is a requirement for every other Sunday to be worked.

Working in conjunction with the service's scheme manager, the cooks will be responsible for providing nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring that individual choice and dietary requirements are catered for, and an excellent standard of health, safety and cleanliness is upheld at all times.

We are also looking for someone who can demonstrate good communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and a commitment to upholding the rights, privacy and dignity of people with disabilities.

In return for your commitment, we offer an excellent benefits package, including a cash health plan which supports your everyday wellbeing alongside 31 days holiday (inclusive of bank holiday allowance, will be pro-rata for this part time post), an additional day for Birthday leave and our competitive pension scheme.

About Estuary
Estuary is a Housing Association with a strong and clear regional commitment within Essex.

We work very successfully within every district in Essex, the three outer East London Boroughs and in the Suffolk Coastal District.

We currently own and manage over 4600 properties.

We are always looking at ways to increase the number of homes we can offer and believe it is important to build communities, not just homes.

We are committed to the provision of good-quality housing, care and support services to meet local needs and to contribute to the development of sustainable communities.

Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, their views are important to us in helping shaping future services.

We employ just over 300 people, two thirds of whom work providing care and support to people with learning disabilities.

We also have an army of dedicated people behind the scenes providing a variety of services including rent collection, gardening, estate management and working on projects to build new houses.
