    Description
    Treasurer

The Curve Group is proud to be working in partnership with Tourism for All, who are looking to appoint a volunteer Treasurer.

If you are wanting to make a difference and support a charity as a Volunteer Treasurer, then this is the role for you.

The positions at Tourism for All are pro-bono/voluntary, and part-time and would suit individuals looking to build or expand their own portfolio of organisations.

    Who Is Tourism for All?

Tourism for All (TFA) is a small independent national charity working to improve accessibility in the tourism, travel, and leisure industry.

TFA believes that it is the right of disabled people to participate, without barriers, in all areas of community life.

They believe that a more accessible tourism, travel, and leisure industry can contribute significantly to the quality of community life.

Improved accessibility will allow everyone to explore new places and to enjoy and share new experiences – things that so many of us take for granted.

    Key Responsibilities of The Treasurer:
To support and ensure the effective governance and operation of the charity, in line with its vision and purpose.
To ensure that the charity works, to the Treasurer's satisfaction, within the legal and regulatory framework.

To provide oversight and support to the Board of Trustees to ensure that TFA's financial status is fully understood and accurately and professionally presented.

To prepare annual Financial Statements for review by the Independent Examiner, liaising with the Independent Examiner as required.

To network actively with the public and business world in order to maintain and continually enhance the perception, profile, and reputation of the charity, and so support the promotion and sale of the charity's services and products.

To contribute expertise, help in kind, and other practical support, to an appropriate degree and based on the Treasurer's skills, experience, position, and availability, to help deliver specific projects and activities at the direction of the Chair or CEO.

To monitor and report conflicts of interest, where these may occur, between the charity's objectives and activities and the Treasurer's business or personal affairs, and where appropriate to withdraw from specific discussions and decisions where such a conflict may arise.

    Commitment Required of The Treasurer:

Participation in 9 monthly video meetings (c.1 hour each) with fellow Trustees – involving reading of papers, participation in video meetings, and meeting follow-up.

Participation in 3 face to face meetings (up to 3 hours each, one of which will be the charity's Annual General Meeting) with fellow Trustees – involving the reading of papers, preparation of the report on the charity's current financial status and performance, travel to and from face to face meeting, participation in face to face meeting and meeting follow up.

Preparation of the charity's annual Budget.
Preparation of the Trustees' Report for the annual Financial Statement.

    The Successful Treasurer Will Have:
A working professional knowledge of financial management/reporting and/or of budget responsibility at some level.

Lived experience (first hand or through family/friends) of the effect and impact of impairment and/or access needs, and of using accessible travel and tourism products and services.

    AND / OR
Professional experience in an area of relevance to businesses, organisations, and consumers in the accessible tourism and travel sector.
