£48,677- £57,267 Dependant on Experience

The Opportunity


As a Regulatory Specialist you will play a vital role in ensuring and assuring the accurate, complete and timely capture of data and information across the business to support our regulatory submissions, including our annual regulatory reporting pack, and creating a compelling narrative on our performance for external audiences.


This role will include working across our whole business, developing the evidence and supporting the drafting of our regulatory reports and submissions as well as responding to Ofgem questions and consultations.


Key accountabilities will also include:


  • Providing specialist support across Cadent to ensure that our regulatory obligations, under our licence and price control arrangements, are understood and met; and expert advice to internal stakeholders on the regulatory framework and how Cadent and its customers derive value from it
  • Preparing materials for executive reports and external publications on regulatory performance
  • Advising, monitoring activity against and supporting the development of submissions relating to revenue adjustment mechanisms within the regulatory framework (including financial incentives, price control deliverables and uncertainty mechanisms)
  • Developing and maintaining value adding relationships across an extensive range of internal and external contacts
  • Influencing the development of the "RIIO" regulatory framework; Monitoring and responding to industry consultations and Ofgem requests for information; Monitoring and benchmarking of regulatory KPI performance ("output" delivery)
  • Providing analytical, data and written content to support internal business making processes and managing our relationship with Ofgem

What You'll Bring

  • Good interpersonal skills to engage and work together with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership teams
  • An excellent desire to, and demonstrable record in, taking responsibility and driving performance to deliver against customer requirements and business objectives
  • Ability to analyse and distil complex (written or numerical) information into simple messages and content to support business decision making as well as influencing regulatory policy;
  • Ability to develop inclusive, accessible and compelling written material across an evolving range of channels (business plans, reports, presentations, blogs)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a range of competing priorities within challenging timescales.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • An ability to identify and understand the value to customers and Cadent in the activities you undertake (Commercial/business acumen)
  • High level of capability across a range of Microsoft software particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
