Reward Proposition Lead


Established in 2010, Nest has been a critical pillar of the government's automatic enrolment pension programme, with a public service obligation to accept any employer wishing to use the scheme to discharge their automatic enrolment duties.

The role:

To lead on the Reward Proposition strategy supporting the recruitment and retention of high quality and talented colleagues. Specifically focused on pay and benefits ensuring Nest are market competitive and attractive to colleagues and potential colleagues.

This role will make sure all our reward and benefits are focused on diversity and inclusiveness to ensure accessibility across all colleagues.


Deliverables

  • Lead and provide strategic direction on our pay and benefit strategies
  • Build trusted relationships with Your Voice (employee representative group), the Executive Committee and members of the Nominations and Remuneration Committee.
  • Provide expert advice and leadership to ExCo on annual remuneration processes ensuring they are fair and equitable and inline with our strategy
  • Ensure we have adequate and appropriate market information for roles, managing the relationship with third party data providers such as Mercer and McLagan to remain competitive
  • Manage the flow of renumeration information to NomRem/DWP etc. This will involve working with senior stakeholders to draft and revise papers as appropriate as well as working with Company Secretariat to plan the flow of papers and information to NomRemetc.
  • Provide oversight to Nest's approach to job evaluation to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity (including leading on annual salary survey submissions).
  • Collaborate with other SME's including the DE&I Business Partner & Operations Manager to manage the benefits proposition, oversee the administration and reporting on usage
  • Manage annual processes such as updating pay ranges, and managing the annual pay award.

The role will be required to work closely with

  • Other members of the People & Development Team, particularly the HR Business Partners and Operations Team.
  • Be confident working with and presenting to senior stakeholders such as ExCo and NomRem members.

Experience and technical skills

  • Managing pay and benefits benchmarking for a medium organisation or being part of a team doing this in a large organisation.
  • Working with senior stakeholders to help them understand the complexities of reward activity.
  • Working in a technical specialist reward role with ability to understand and analyse complex data and produce forecast modelling
  • Developing reward propositions (including developing business cases and overseeing implementation).
  • Producing reward related papers and communications.
  • Working as part of a broader human resources team to ensure that solutions are both fit for purpose and understood by employees.
  • Using reward interventions to support overall business objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of external themes and best practice approaches
Remote and flexible working considered, but occasional travel into London will be necessary.
