The Role
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger to join our group finance team.

Your focus will be on the maintenance of accounting records for a number of business entities, whilst providing support to other areas of the department as and when needed.

Your main responsibilities will be;

  • Understand and operate the Company's Accounting System, Evision, for the area of responsibility i.e. Purchase ledger processing, receipting of goods and payment processing.
  • Understand and operate the Continia system to facilitate accurate data entry to support the processing of invoices.
  • Ensure all POD's are received and chase sites/supplier where appropriate.
  • For certain suppliers ensure that On-Line Portals are used to obtain required POD's.
  • Ensure that appropriate purchase orders and receipts are recorded within the system in order to complete threeway matching in line with the Group's internal control procedures.
  • Liaison with site staff and suppliers to ensure that accurate records are received.
  • Liaise with Plant and Buying departments regarding order queries.
  • Together with the other team members monitor workload in area of responsibility to ensure an even spread and to expedite processing concerns in order to ensure that supplier payment policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure key supplier account reconciliations are carried out on a regular basis.
  • Working from home is permitted for this role on a part time basis. If greater efficiencies are achieved by working from head office, this should be done on a full time basis for the benefit of the Group.

About You

  • You have experience in a Purchase Ledger/Accounts assistant role.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of ERP systems, Office 36
  • Information management skills.
  • You have strong attention to detail and time management skills, you are able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
