We are looking for a Warehouse Shift Leader to effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of the warehouse operation and employees, ensuring full legal compliance with health and safety, environmental and industry legislation and Company processes and procedures.

To implement continuous improvement practices and drive superior performance

Hours & Days of work:
Shift work with the Flexibility to meet the operational requirements.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Consistent coaching of all Warehouse and Supervisory personnel to maximise the contribution and work output to ensure that the operation is carried out according to Quality and Health and Safety requirements, whilst meeting company targets.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative solutions or adjust existing work procedures and practises in collaboration with employees
  • Ensure all absence records and return to work interviews are completed and managed effectively and where required take the necessary disciplinary action promptly and in line with company procedures, best practices and legal requirements.
  • Achieve agreed vehicle loading and unloading targets, praying particular attention to load best practices and legal requirements.
  • Control and reduce damage to stock.
  • Manage and maintain compliance for all Inbound / Outbound activities, and staffing levels to support business demands.
  • Identify and mentor personnel for future development.
  • Create and deliver regular team briefs and business updates.
  • Ensure all practices are compliant with the following standards: 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental, 18001 Health & Safety, 50001 Energy Management.

Preferred skills and experiences:


  • Previous experience of working in a Warehousing environment.
  • Experience of working in a customerfocused environment.
  • A proven track record of leading, training, developing teams; this includes experience in absence, disciplinary and grievance processes, mental health awareness, conflict management and team building
  • Knowledge of industry legislation e.g. working time directive.
  • The ability to do comprehensive reporting, alongside analysis of data.
  • Decisive and effective decision making, problem resolution and time management skills.
  • A sound working knowledge of SAP systems in Warehouse Operations.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team.
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience, selfmotivation and flexibility.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (Health & Safety & Environment).
  • Completed, or willing to work towards, Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship or equivalent
