HCPA are recruiting for a
Health Promotion Trainer to deliver health promotion education and support to the Private, Voluntary and Independent Adult Social Care Workforce of Hertfordshire, as part of the HCPA Prevention and Enablement Service.

This is an exciting position for someone to extend their experience in care and their training skills.

We are looking for someone who has a passion and enthusiasm to raise the standard of quality of care and has a special interest in the physical activityand mobility of older adults.

Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HCPA) is a unique award-winning company set up to support adult care providers within Hertfordshire to raise quality standards of care.

We are a non-profit member's association.

We support over 550 care organisationsto improve the quality of care they provide across a variety of projects such as staff training and providing information and guidance.

We also provide additional services and projects such as a fully funded Recruitment service, Impartial Feedback servicesand the Stop Falls Service.

What does the role of Health Promotion Trainer involve?
Your average day will include delivering training to staff within a residential care setting.

On average, each care setting has 6 days of training covering topics around falls prevention, frailty, hydration, nutrition and exercise.


  • Act as a trainer delivering knowledge to care staff in all topics relevant to Prevention and Enablement.
  • Prepare and update Prevention and Enablement Education courses and qualifications to meet regulatory standards, including updating resources
  • Provide appropriate IAG to learners that relate to further training and education opportunities available to meet their business needs or progression.
  • Ensure all training and assessment records are documented to expectations
  • Maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD) and contribute to Standardisation as and when required.
  • Evaluation
  • Collecting and writing case studies (monthly), with weekly data inputting
  • Development to provide Targeted Support to Care managers and champions to achieving the prevention and enablement standards.
  • Development to deliver and assess of Chair Based Exercise qualification and other relevant topics.


We are looking for you to have Health and Social Care experience, perhaps as a Senior Care Assistant, with a clear passion for improving health in quality of life.

We can teach you training delivery skills, but experience in this area is beneficial. At HCPAwe are dedicated to hiring people whose own values align with the company.

  • We are also looking for you to have:_
  • Own transport with insurance for business use is essential for this role as travel around Hertfordshire is required
  • Previous experience of working health in social care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Undertake training and qualification required for role, including AET within first three months.
  • Special interest in physical activity and mobility of older adults
