Belonging to the UK & Ireland Offshore Business Performance Team and reporting to the Head of Regulated Transactions, you will focus on the divestment of Transmission Assets connecting Offshore Windfarms to the Onshore Transmission Grid.


While the transmission assets divestment process is controlled by the Electricity Markets Regulator ("Ofgem"), the Regulated Transactions team manage the process for Scottish Power and develop and maintain relationships with both OFGEM and the Project Teams to ensure that the maximum value is recovered through the sale process.


You will challenge, analyse and report up to date financial information relating to the Offshore Transmission Assets to support, internal budgets and forecasts, formal submissions to OFGEM and Investors due diligence reviews.


_ What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll have a number of key responsibilities including:

  • Co-ordinating financial inputs from a multi-functional team of consultants and internal experts from across the Project construction and operations areas.
  • Liaising with Budget Holders to interrogate expenditure and forecast completion costs.
  • Liaising with the 'Project Manager', 'Project Planner', 'Risk Manager' and "Change Manager" to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the transaction cost assessment.
  • Developing relationships with the project teams, Joint Venture partners and the Regulator to ensure that the cost base of the OFTO asset is fully understood and ongoing changes are communicated effectively.
  • Influencing the cost allocation process within the projects to ensure that OFTO costs are clearly identified and evidence that they have been efficiently and economically incurred.
  • Providing robust and supportable valuation assumptions on capex and OPEX to the Investment Office and working with them to develop valuation models supporting Business cases.
  • Supporting the vendor Due Diligence process, ensuring that the data room provides full analysis and justification of the project costs incurred.
  • Assisting the Head of Regulated Transactions in preparing updates on the divestment process for senior management in SPR Offshore Management team.

_What You'll Bring:

Your extensive commercial and/or financial experience within Power Industry will be supported by a Degree or professional qualification in Financial or Economics area or equivalent technical training.

A highly self-driven, analytical, decisive and focussed individual with experience in transaction support, due diligence, valuations and/or acquisitions in large infrastructure or major project transaction, able to communicate at all levels and to work to tight deadlines.


Your knowledge on renewable energy industry, Government energy policy and International Accounting Standards will help you to manage complex corporate relationships and delivering partners' expectations.


Proficient spreadsheet skills with the ability to manage and manipulate large volumes of financial data and experience of SAP Accounting Systems will be required.
