Service Care Solutions are looking for a HR Change Officer to work within the Dorset Police on an 8-Month contract.


Location:
Middlemoor HQ (Hybrid)


Job role/responsibilities:

Fulfilling the role of Professional Advisor in accordance with the HR Delivery Model specialising in Change Management.

Responsible for providing technical and specialist advice to Managers, Business Change Managers and Regional Project Boards for and undertakingHR delivery processes required for the area of specialism.


  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Line Managers, Business Change Managers during restructures providing timely and appropriate technical advice around change management.
  • Managing restructures in line with the Policy, best practice and employment legislation including appropriate consultation with trade unions, Federation, and members of staff.
  • Managing delivery of change related to partnership working and regional and national working.
  • Managing departmental restructures seeking to produce creative solutions to issues in accordance with change management, highlighting risk in order that informed decisions can be taken as to the appropriate way forward.

  • Undertaking appropriate proactive monitoring activities for the area of specialism, highlighting issues and potential actions to relevant manager/department representative.
  • Contributing to policy formation where appropriate, providing innovative solutions and ideas for process simplification from a force, regional and national perspective.

Experience/Qualifications required:


  • CIPD Level 5 Diploma in People Practice (or working towards this qualification) OR relevant practical experience in a generalist professional HR role.
  • Experience of providing specialist HR advice to line managers and supervisors
  • Good knowledge of employment law.
  • Clear understanding of the role of Human Resources in contributing to the achievement of the force/regional/national goals and objectives.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and the ability to deal with matters sensitively and tactfully.
  • Effective decision making and problemsolving skills with the ability to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to deliver at formal presentations to staff of both large and small groups.
  • High degree of computer literacy.
