**Avanti Recruitment is currently working with a bank that is part of a £1Bn organization. The company is looking for a Lead Java or Kotlin Developer for their brand new Leeds-based office, this role is hybrid and will require you in the office a coupleof days per week.


You will find yourself working on the payments side of the company, you will be working alongside a team of 8 in the UK plus the offshore team of 22.

The head of engineering is based in Leeds and you will be working closely with him on a daily basis.

Thecompany is looking to build out an entire team here in the UK.

Due to the rapid growth of the company's presence in the UK, You will have plenty of opportunities to work with Greenfield projects.

This role will consist of a 50/50 split between hands-on development and line/people management.

Some of the technologies used in the company: Java, Kotlin, Spring, Springboot, Microservices, Maven, Gitlab, AWS, CI/CD, Node.
JS, Typescript and React.

Hands-on Responsibilities:


  • Code Reviews
  • Help with blockers
  • Following Agile Methodology
  • Architectural and Design planning / Discussions
  • Working across the full SDLC when needed

Line Management Responsibilities:


  • Leading a team of 46 people
Meetings

  • Creating personal development plans for your team
  • Product delivery
  • Technical Direction and R&D of new technologies
  • Helping the team follow the right principles/practices such as Agile
  • Running standups

Essential Skills:


  • Strong experience with Java or Kotlin
  • Spring/Springboot microservices experience
  • Experience in leading / Managing a team
  • AWS or similar

Desirable:


  • Product delivery
experience

  • R&D experience
  • Experience within the payments / banking / financial sector
  • Kotlin experience would be beneficial
The salary for this position is up to £90,000
