The appointment is to commence April 2024 for a fixed term period of 8 months. MBChB or equivalent is essential. The post does not award a National Training Number.

As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required.

The duties of this post are equivalent to F2/ST1 level.


The duties include assisting in the day-to-day management of inpatients; attendance at Consultant ward rounds; prompt completion of e-discharge summaries; teaching medical students as directed; and attendance at clinical meetings.

Your hours will mainly be M-F , with participation in full-shift rota to be confirmed.

We provide a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Sheffield, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield, including cancer, spinal cord injuries, renal and cardiothoracic services.

The duties of this post will be equivalent to Foundation or CT level. Previous experience of working within the NHS is essential.

The Fellow will also be given dedicated time to pursue career development opportunities such as research or audit, quality improvement projects, educational roles etc.
