Head of Emerging Talent

  • Who we are: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names a byword for innovation and professionalism during the course of a glittering history that spans three centuries.

One of the 12 founder members of the Football League, Everton has played more games in English football's top flight than any other club.

While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium currently being constructed on the banks of the iconic River Mersey.

In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our men's, women's and Academy set-ups that inspire and compete at the highest level of the game.

Our values underpin how we behave, how we represent our club in our city and across the world of football, and how we look after one another and our community.

They provide a framework for how we work and engage with partners, suppliers and, most importantly, our fans.

About the opportunity:
For decades, our Club has been one of the most respected and renowned in football.

Our vision to develop young players who are technically and tactically capable of playing for Everton's Men's First Team, or having a career in the professional game, remains as focused as ever.

We now have an extremely exciting new opportunity for a strategic and dynamic leader to join us as Head of Emerging Talent.

ou will work closely with our Director of Football, Academy Director, Head of Recruitment and Head of Academy Recruitment & Player Pathways to establish, maintain and analyse a comprehensive and effective strategy, focused on identifying and recruiting exceptional players within the emerging talent bracket (players aged 16-19 with first team potential).

Using your expertise, you will service Men's First Team succession planning as well as the U18-U21 age group, establishing and implementing a coverage strategy within the appropriate markets.

You will build positive relationships not only across the Everton Family but also externally, to ensure we are recruiting the very best players.

Who we are looking for:

Essentially, we are looking for a confident leader who has vast experience of Talent ID; as well as developing, implementing and executing recruitment strategies.

You will be confident in communicating with all stakeholders; while leading the development and implementation of recruitment strategies across the Club.

This role will provide opportunity to demonstrate the importance of Talent ID within a performance environment and how it is able to support an exciting future for our football club.

If you feel you are the person we are looking for, someone who would be able to drive, implement and evolve the Talent ID strategy, then we would love to hear from you

The role is permanent and will involve hybrid working; this will be between our Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood), operating from home & travelling across the UK, in order to spot top talent; working 40 hours per week.
